In this domestic T20 tournament, many young players are trying to get noticed by the franchises with their excellent performance. In this series, 22 year old all-rounder Sunny Sandhu of Tamil Nadu performed such a feat which has attracted everyone’s attention.

26 runs in one over against Chetan Sakariya

This match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was played between Tamil Nadu and Saurashtra on 8 December at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Fast bowler Chetan Sakariya was bowling for Saurashtra in the 17th over of Tamil Nadu’s innings. In the same over, Sunny Sandhu hit such fours and sixes that the course of the match changed.

Sakariya started the over with a slow bouncer, on which Sunny hit a brilliant four over the wicketkeeper. After this, he hit two sixes and two more fours in the over, while also scoring two runs by running fast on one ball. In this way, Sunny Sandhu scored 26 runs from that over alone and laid the foundation of Tamil Nadu’s victory.

In this match, Sunny Sandhu made a tremendous impact by scoring 30 runs in just 9 balls. Thanks to his explosive innings, Tamil Nadu registered a thrilling victory in the last over. Sunny’s strike rate and confidence has been no less than a sign for the IPL franchise.

Sunny Sandhu’s price may increase in IPL mini auction

Sunny Sandhu has earlier impressed with his performance in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) also. He is a batting all-rounder who can also bowl when needed. Looking at the current form, it is believed that he may get a big bid in the mini auction of IPL 2026. Sunny Sandhu’s base price for the mini auction has been kept at Rs 30 lakh, but after his explosive performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, his price is sure to increase.
