Talha Anjum named most streamed Pakistani artist worldwide again

Famed Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum has been named – for the second consecutive year – as the “most-streamed Pakistani artist” throughout Pakistan, India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. The announcement comes amid growing global interest in Pakistani music and hip-hop.

Taking to social media to announce the achievement, Talha Anjum addressed his haters when he said that attempts at bringing him down-be it through boycotts, bans, notices, satirical attacks, or fake news-had just not hurt his achievement. “Urdu rap remains on top, just where it was a year ago,” he reflected with pride at the sustained popularity of his genre.

Anjum credited his victory to the blessings of Allah and asked critics to put their energies to better use. “If you are against me, pray for me and work harder. We will meet again next year,” he said, pointing to his resilience in the tough music industry competition.

This recognition comes alongside this year’s Rapid Report, which showed a 70 percent increase in Pakistani music streaming. Other top-performing artists from Pakistan included Umair, Hasan Raheem, Atif Aslam, and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, all of whom continue to mold the global presence of Pakistan’s music scene.

Industry analysts say Talha Anjum’s back-to-back recognition reflects the heightened impact of Pakistani hip-hop and Urdu rap on international audiences. Several streaming platforms have afforded global listeners the first-ever opportunities to hear South Asian music, which helped artists like Anjum reach fans beyond the subcontinent.

The success of Talha Anjum also reflects a broader trend in digital music consumption, where access to streaming services allows artists to connect directly with listeners, bypassing traditional barriers. His blend of contemporary beats and Urdu lyrics resonates with a younger audience, contributing to cultural preservation and innovation in the Pakistan music industry.

Despite challenges and controversies, Anjum has proved that consistency, creativity, and audience engagement can make a difference. That the rapper acknowledges critics at the same time as he celebrates his success shows his commitment to focusing on growth and staying relevant in the fast-evolving global music landscape. With streaming numbers still on the rise, more and more Pakistani artists are gaining recognition on the world stage, marking a new era in this country’s music industry where local talent competes on a global stage. Talha Anjum’s back-to-back global streaming accolades have brought attention to his personal success and the global footprint of Pakistani music.
