As per the new RBI rules, UPI transactions done through credit cards will be hassle-free just like debit cards before this rule, UPI transactions were done by linking savings/current accounts through a user's debit card. However, some limitations exist to using credit cards over UPI. Users can use their credit cards to pay basic amenities bills like electricity, mobile phone number recharge, water bills, etc. This means that users cannot transfer money to other users or make payments at the store.
How to link your credit card with Google Pay to make payments:
- Open the menu on your smartphone and select Google Pay.
After opening Google Pay, tap on the profile icon in the top right corner.
Click on the Bank Account option.
- Select 'Add Credit or Debit Card' from the menu.
- You can either scan your credit card or prefer the manual process of entering the details.
- You are ready to pay via credit card.
- Now, pay with your linked credit card.
