Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Kamal Patel was speaking as the Chief Guest at the function of Drone Yatra of Syngenta India held at Baranga in Khirkiya. Syngenta India flagged off the Drone Yatra from its Headquarter Pune on 15th July. In this yatra, awareness about drone spraying will be created among 10,000 farmers. Syngenta is one of the few private companies that have been given permission by the central government to use drones.

Speaking at the function, Shri Patel said that technology based agriculture is the need of the hour. Drone technology has a lot of scope in the agriculture of our state. We can increase the yield by using technology. Today, due to the hard work of farmers, Tezzbuzz ranks first in the production of soybean, gram, urad, tur, masoor, linseed. Mr. Patel also said, “Today the program organized by Syngenta at home village Baranga in Harda district I observed the spraying of pesticides and fertilizers from the drone and conducted the trial of the drone.

The use of drones will save the time and money of the farmers, the drone can spray medicine and fertilizers in the entire field in a very short time. In just 10 minutes, nano urea or insecticide can be sprayed in an area of ​​1 acre by drone. The Government of India has also announced a policy to promote the use of drones in agriculture. In the near future, unemployed youth will be given training in drone operation through skill development centers and loans will be given from banks along with grants to buy drones so that youth can get income by spraying pesticides and fertilizers in the fields through drones. He said that the government has also prepared a technology based roadmap in agriculture, which will make the cost effective of farming and the income of the farmers will also increase. Farmers should take initiative to increase their yield by using drone technology.

Dr KC Ravi, Chief Sustainability Officer, Syngenta India said that technology like drones will increase yields and will benefit the farmers immensely. There has been a remarkable improvement in agricultural crop production in Tezzbuzz in the last 15 years. The state ranks second in the production of Maize, Sesame, Ramtil, Moong etc. and in the production of Wheat, Jowar, Barley.
