Tech: Tecno has launched a new budget smartphone in India today. The recently launched Tecno Pop 9 4G is part of the company's Tecno Pop 9 series, which also includes the Tecno Pop 9 5G. Tecno Pop 9 5G arrived in India in September this year at a starting price of Rs 9,499. It competes with smartphones like Redmi A4 5G and Realme Narzo N61 in India.

Tecno Pop 9 4G comes in a single variant with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage space and is priced at Rs 6,499. Interested buyers will be able to purchase it in Startrail Black and Glitter White color variants via Amazon India from November 26.

Talking about the features, Techno Pop 9 4G has a 6.67 inch HD + display whose screen refresh rate is 90Hz. It comes with a punch hole camera placed at the top center of the display and supports an iPhone-like dynamic island notch. Additionally, it comes with IP54 dust and water-resistant coating and has dual stereo speakers with DTS sound for audio.
Talking about the core, the Tecno Pop 9 4G is powered by a slightly older MediaTek's Helio G50 chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. This storage space can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card. Additionally, this budget smartphone supports 3GB virtual RAM.
On the software front, the Tecno Pop 9 4G runs Android 14 Go Edition operating system. For those who don't know, let us tell you that Android 14 Go Edition is a scaled-down version of Android 14 that is designed to run on budget smartphones. Tecno has promised to provide OS updates to this smartphone for three years.
Talking about the camera, Tecno Pop 9 4G has a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front facing camera. Both come with dual LED flash. It has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging technology.
