Team India won the four-match Test series 2-1 for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after the fifth Test in Ahmedabad ended in a draw. Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Kuhnmann for 6, prompting Marnus Labuchen to call on strike. Hayde Labusche then took charge of the innings with a half-century of his own.

Later, Akshar Patel removed Head on 90 runs. Steve Smith (10*) joined hands with Lebuschagne (63*) and both batsmen were unbeaten at the crease before stumps were called. After Sri Lanka’s loss to New Zealand in their Test match on Monday, Team India had already booked their place in the final of the World Test Championship against Australia.
