The decline in the domestic stock market stopped, Sensex strengthened by 394 points, Nifty near 23250.
Mumbai, 9 June. After the intervention of US President Donald Trump, the softening of crude oil prices due to easing of tension between Israel and Iran had an impact on the global markets as well as the Indian stock market and the decline that had been going on for the last two trading sessions came to a halt on Tuesday. In this sequence, BSE Sensex gained 394 points while Nifty increased by 119 points and reached near 23,250. According to analysts, the rise in bank shares also strengthened the market sentiment.
Sensex 0.54 percentage increase 73,918.76 closed on points
Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)’s benchmark index Sensex based on 30 shares closed at 73,918.76 points, up 394.50 points or 0.54 per cent in volatile trade. At one time during trading, it had climbed by 511.15 points and crossed 74 thousand to reach 74,045.31. Interestingly, Sensex also started at this level. Among Sensex related companies, 18 shares were in profit while 12 were in decline.

On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) sensitive index Nifty based on 50 shares closed at 23,242.10 points, increasing by 119.10 points or 0.52 percent. The benchmark index had climbed to 156.4 points during trading. Among Nifty related companies, shares of 29 were in profit while 21 showed weakness. If we look at the broader market, the BSE Midcap index of medium companies jumped by 1.50 percent, while the Smallcap index of small companies rose by 1.33 percent.
InterGlobe Aviation’s stocks rose the most by 4.04 percent
Among the companies included in the Sensex group, the stock of InterGlobe Aviation rose the most by 4.04 percent. State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance and Asian Paints were also major gainers. On the other hand, loss-making stocks include Titan, NTPC, Power Grid and Tech Mahindra.
Meanwhile, global oil benchmark Brent crude fell 1.66 per cent to $92.69 per barrel.
