‘The head will be cut but will not bow down…’ Kakoli Ghosh’s befitting reply to Mamata Banerjee on the rebellion of 20 TMC MPs
After losing power in the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026, the storm of rebellion in All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) is not showing any sign of stopping. First the party MLAs raised the flag of rebellion and now the MPs have also given a big blow to Mamata Banerjee. Rebel TMC MPs have extended their support to the BJP-led NDA, causing a stir in politics from Bengal to Delhi.
According to Lok Sabha MP Kakoli Ghosh, about 20 TMC MPs have decided to support NDA. Amidst this entire political drama, Kakoli Ghosh has adopted a very aggressive attitude and said that my head will be cut off but will not bow down. He said that I have endured a lot. I have not come to this party after Mamata Banerjee became the Chief Minister in 2011, rather I have been struggling here for the last 40 years. He bluntly said that the idle talk of such people will have no effect on him now.
Was with Mamata even when she was not in power
Kakoli Ghosh, while narrating his old pain, said that the situation in the state has been continuously worsening. She has stood shoulder to shoulder with Mamata Banerjee for the last 40 years. Mamata Banerjee has always been his guide, mentor and leader. She made it clear that she stood with Mamata Banerjee even when she was not in power. He reminded that before 2009 he had contested five elections and lost. Therefore now it is completely useless for anyone to say that he left Mamata Banerjee because she was no longer in power in West Bengal.
Work did not happen as per expectation in Bengal
TMC’s Lok Sabha MP fiercely targeted the policies of Mamata government. She said that when she was earlier with Mamata Banerjee, there was a policy that worked in the interest of the poor people of West Bengal. But in the last 3-4 years, no work has been done in the state as per expectations. The development of the state has come to a complete standstill. Along with this, many types of financial irregularities and scams have come to light, which are now slowly being proved to be true.
Referring to the poor condition of the state, he said that various important sectors like education, health and film industry have been completely ruined. The law and order of the state had also completely derailed. There was a lot of pressure being put on government officials to work as per the whims of certain leaders, which cannot be called the right environment for the development of any state.
The public’s decision proved the truth
Kakoli Ghosh further said that now the decision of the people of West Bengal has completely proved what she was trying to explain for a long time. This is the reason why now all of them want to work for the development of the state, national interest and security of the country. With this thinking in mind, he has decided to work separately from the party.
Request to sit separately from the speaker
Talking about the unity of the MPs, Kakoli Ghosh said that there are a total of 20 MPs who have requested Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to make arrangements for separate sitting in the Parliament. All these MPs will work together with the Central and State Governments for the development of West Bengal. Along with this, he is completely against the anarchy, misgovernance and increasing unemployment that has spread in West Bengal in the last few years.
The rebel MP said that he has submitted his official letter in this regard to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Whenever the speaker gets time, he will himself call them for talks. He has also mentioned in the letter that all those twenty MPs in the Lok Sabha are not able to work properly. Many excellent schemes of the Central Government have been implemented across the country, but due to political malice, they were not allowed to be implemented in Bengal. Now he wants to take those welfare schemes to the voters who elected him and sent him to Parliament.
During this time, when he was asked whether there was any kind of pressure on him, he clearly denied. He said that no one is threatening him. Everything is in front and she herself is sitting here alone. There is no such thing as intimidation in this. All 20 of us MPs sitting together have signed this letter with full consent.
Suspense remains on future strategy
Regarding the future political strategy, Kakoli Ghosh said that what will happen next will be known only later. For now, isn’t it enough that they all want to work for the betterment of Bengal and the country and keep India safe? He stressed that this is a very important issue and for him the issue of the country always remains at the top.
When Kakoli Ghosh was asked this sharp question whether Mamata Banerjee tried to contact him after this rebellion? So he replied bluntly that no one from that side tried to contact him.
She said emotionally that when she was the district president and the election results were bad, she had left her post taking personal responsibility. She felt that perhaps she could not do her work properly. But even after that no one met him in the party nor did he receive any call. He was simply completely sidelined. Making very serious allegations, he said that it seemed as if he had left someone open to barking and abusing me. He had never even dreamed that after living together for 40 years, he would have to see a day when Mamata Banerjee would ask someone to humiliate him.
