Washington. A sudden firing near the White House in America’s capital Washington DC on Saturday night created panic in the entire area. According to reports, about 30 rounds of gunfire were heard near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, an area very close to the White House.

Attack on security booth, retaliatory action-
According to the information, a suspected gunman started firing indiscriminately at the security booth located outside the White House, where Secret Service officers were deployed. After this, the security forces immediately retaliated, in which the attacker was shot. A pedestrian was also injured in the incident, while the attacker later died in the hospital.

President Trump was present in the White House-
US President Donald Trump was present inside the White House at the time of the incident and is said to be completely safe. Security agencies immediately issued a high alert in the White House complex and the North Lawn was evacuated. There was a lockdown like situation in the area for some time.

According to eyewitnesses, journalists and staff were instructed to move to safe places as soon as the gunshots were heard.

Secret Service and FBI’s response-
Giving information on Twitter, the US Secret Service said that firing was reported near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue and the investigation is ongoing.

FBI Director Kash Patel said the agencies are investigating the case and will provide updates as information emerges.

According to the Secret Service, the suspect took out the weapon from the bag and started firing, after which he was shot in retaliation and died in the hospital.

Many American leaders have expressed concern about this incident. Congressman Randy Fine prayed for everyone’s safety, while Congresswoman Nancy Mace said the rise in political violence in the country is a matter of grave concern.
