The Indian Express reports that over 8.57 lakh regular students, including 4,90,482 boys and 3,66,722 girls, were promoted to class 10 board exams in 2021, which is the highest number ever registered.

More than 5 lakh registrations have been done

The total regular registration as per GSHSEB records is 5.91 lakh, which is the highest in the last five years. Officials said this could be the largest number of students registered for Class 12 exams so far. According to GSHSEB chairman AJ Shah, additional infrastructure has been created to accommodate these additional students.

Most of the students are in science stream

The year 2021 also recorded the highest number of students passing class 12 with a massive promotion of 5.07 lakh regular students. This time there have been 5.91 lakh registrations for the GSHSEB Class 12 exam. The number of registrations in Science stream is 1.07 lakh, which is the highest in the last 5 years. Due to the increasing number of students appearing in the 12th board examination this year, additional examination hall, invigilators and staff have been hired for the examination.

The number of centers has been increased

According to media reports, more than 500 additional centers have been arranged across the state as compared to previous years. In March 2022, 12th science examination was held at 506 centers, which has increased to 581 this year. At the same time, this time the number of employees has also been increased for the board exams.
