Tilak T20 century: Indian batsman Tilak Verma has created history by becoming the first player to score centuries in three consecutive innings in T-20 cricket. In the first match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25, Tilak played a brilliant inning of 151 runs in 67 balls against Meghalaya. This match was played in Rajkot, where Tilak scored runs at a strike rate of 225.37 and hit 14 fours and 10 sixes in his innings.
Earlier, Tilak had scored two consecutive centuries in the third and fourth T20 against South Africa. He scored unbeaten 107 runs in Centurion and unbeaten 120 runs in Johannesburg.
Achievement of Tilak Verma
Tilak Verma has become the first Indian male cricketer to score more than 150 runs in T-20 cricket. Earlier, this feat was achieved by Indian women cricketer Kiran Navgire, who played an innings of 162 runs against Arunachal Pradesh in the Senior Women's T-20 Trophy in 2022.
Hyderabad's record score
Thanks to the brilliant innings of Tilak Verma, Hyderabad scored 248 runs for 4 wickets, which is the team's highest score in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This is also the fifth highest score in the history of the tournament.
Meghalaya team all out
In reply, Meghalaya team was all out for only 69 runs. Hyderabad won this match by a huge margin of 179 runs. Aniket Reddy bowled brilliantly for Hyderabad and took 4 wickets.
