Ingredients for making butter khichdi
1 cup moong dal,
1 cup rice,
2-3 finely chopped green chillies
1 inch grated ginger,
1 tsp cumin,
A pinch of asafoetida,
1 tsp turmeric powder,
1 tsp red chilli powder,
1 tsp coriander powder,
salt as per taste,
2-3 tbsp ghee,
fresh finely chopped coriander leaves
lemon juice
How to make Tasty Butter Khichdi
To make tasty butter khichdi, first of all you have to wash both moong dal and rice thoroughly with clean water two to three times. After this, soak both these things in water for some time. Now put the soaked lentils and rice in the cooker.

After this, add turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala and other spices as per your taste in the cooker. The amount of water in it should be slightly more. When three or four whistles come from the cooker, heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin and asafoetida in it.
When the cumin seeds crackle well, add green chillies and grated ginger to it. If you want, you can also add finely chopped onions or tomatoes in it. Now put all the roasted spices in the cooker and mix it well.
