Two arrested for selling woman

Kolkata. The CID of West Bengal has arrested two people for selling a woman on the pretext of marriage. The names of the arrested accused are Samsool Sheikh alias Saddam (38) and Abdullah Mandal (26). Both the accused are residents of Kultali under South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

According to police sources, the 24-year-old woman, a resident of Kultali, befriended a man over the phone, who told his name as Saddam Dha. During this, Saddam lured the woman to provide a good life. After this, Saddam took the woman and her four-year-old girl to Delhi on the pretext of marriage and sold them in the red light area and pushed them into prostitution.

When there was no conversation for several days, a complaint was lodged at the local police station on behalf of the victim’s family. Acting on the complaint, the District Police of South 24 Parganas recovered the victim woman and her baby girl from Delhi, but could not arrest anyone.

After this the CID of West Bengal started the investigation. The CID traced the accused by examining their digital data. CID raided Sealdah on Saturday night and arrested both the human traffickers.
