UN Peacebuilding Commission for 2025-2026 : India has been re-elected as a member of the United Nations Peacekeeping Commission for 2025-2026. India's current tenure in the Commission was ending on December 31. India has been re-elected to the United Nations Peacekeeping Commission (PBC) for the term 2025-2026, India's Permanent Mission to the United Nations said in a post on social media platform 'X' on Thursday. As a founding member and major contributor to UN peacekeeping, India is committed to continuing its association with the PBC to work towards global peace and stability.

As a founding member of the Commission, India has consistently played an active role in shaping its peacebuilding initiatives. The Commission advises the United Nations General Assembly and the Security Council on peacebuilding and peacekeeping efforts. Its focus is to promote a strategic and integrated approach to peacebuilding by engaging with Member States, UN entities and other relevant actors.
