IND A vs SL A Match: The ODI tri-series between India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A has started. The first match of this tri-series is being played between India A and Sri Lanka A in Dambulla. In this match, India A scored 277/6 runs in the first innings due to the century of captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and half-century of vice-captain Tilak Verma. Sri Lanka A is yet to bat.

India A won the toss and elected to bat and posted a good score in the first match of the Tri-Nation series. The innings had a shaky start and both the openers were out early. A big innings was expected from Vaibhav Suryavanshi but he was out after scoring 14 runs, while Prabha Simran Singh scored only 2 runs. After this, Priyansh Arya, who came to bat at number 3, took charge of the team by playing a useful innings. After his dismissal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Tilak Verma took charge and stitched a crucial partnership for the fourth wicket.

Gaikwad scored a brilliant century (114 runs), while Tilak supported him well by playing an excellent inning of 60 runs. In the end, the team got the required runs due to short but effective innings of Suryansh Shedge and Ayush Badoni, due to which India A was able to cross the mark of 275 runs. However, Sri Lanka’s bowlers will be frustrated by giving away wides and extra runs; If the match drags till the last overs, this mistake could cost them dearly.

Shiraz took two wickets for Sri Lanka A, but they proved a bit expensive. Whereas, Vanuj Sahan bowled economically and gave only 35 runs in 10 overs. Now in the second innings, the host team has to score 278 runs in 50 overs to win.
