Video: Flood and landslide caused massive devastation in Nepal; So far 122 people have died, 64 missing

Nepal Floods and Landslides Disaster: In the neighboring country Nepal, floods and landslides following the rains have caused massive devastation. The death toll in this natural disaster reached 122 on Sunday, while 45 people were injured. Also, 64 people are still reported missing. At the same time, life has come to a standstill in many parts of Nepal.

According to media reports, large parts of eastern and central Nepal are submerged since Friday due to floods and landslides. At least 195 houses and eight bridges have been damaged during this period. 48 out of 122 deaths in this disaster occurred in Kathmandu Valley. Apart from this, around 19 people died when a bus was hit by a landslide in Dhading district on Saturday. Five people are reported dead after a house collapsed in a landslide in Bhaktapur city.

About 3,100 people have been rescued by security personnel. This is considered to be the most devastating flood in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 40-45 years. Rain is expected to continue in Nepal till Tuesday, but there is some relief on Sunday. However, many highways and roads in Nepal are closed due to floods and landslides. Thousands of passengers are also stranded at various places due to road closure.

The Bagmati, Kathmandu's main river, is flowing above the danger mark after torrential rains lashed eastern and central Nepal on Friday and Saturday, a report by the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) said.
