Mumbai,  Naughty is a 33-minute short film produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Vidya Balan and directed by Shaan Vyas, which underscores that home is where we learn the values that shape us and who make us.

A story where a mother (Vidya Balan) turns her attention to her school-going son Sonu (Sanika Patel), who, like the men in her family, has feelings of mistreatment and disrespect towards the other sex. Vidya Balan, who turned producer with the film, is playing the role of a housewife in a patriarchal setup here. This short film is perfect, says Angelica La Rocca, a child jury at Italy’s Giffoni Film Festival. Naughty reinforces the idea of a possible solution against the social practices of malpractices and patriarchy. It shows that raising a child at home is the beginning of real education.

Director Shaan Vyas said on this achievement, Nakhat is made with a very calm but powerful urge to change things. It states that change begins at home. We are very happy with this selection for the Oscar race.
