Vietnam claims 6 spots in Asia’s best breakfast list

TasteAtlas compiled the list from over 20,000 ratings, of which nearly half were verified as legitimate.

Slow-cooked with lemongrass and spices, warehousea beef and carrot stew, is served over noodles or alongside a baguette. The dish has both eastern and western influences.

Right behind it is bun bo Hue or spicy beef noodle soup at 15th. It combines pork and beef bone broth, noodles and sliced brisket or crab balls. It is believed to have roots in Hue’s royal cuisine.

Banh Bao (steamed buns) claimed 34th spot. Adapted from the Chinese baozi, they are stuffed with pork, mushrooms, eggs, and Chinese sausage wrapped in a dough.

Further down the list at 45th is com total sleep or broken rice with grilled pork. The pork is marinated in lemongrass and fish sauce before grilling. It is served over rice with fish sauce for dipping.

Will not or “dodging beef”, named for the way diners lean back from the hot plate, enters the list at 61st. Cuts such as skirt steak are served with eggs and pate alongside a baguette and vegetables.

Rounding out Vietnam’s representation is Cuon cake (steamed rice rolls) at 68th. The rolls, filled with pork and mushrooms, are served with fried shallots, fish sauce, and herbs. A similar dish exists in Thai cuisine, Khao Phan.

Topping the list is beyran çorbası from Turkey, a lamb-based soup. It is followed by Malaysia’s roti canai (pan-fried flatbread) and mercimek çorbası, a lentil soup also from Turkey.
