Virat Kohli reflects on form resurgence after Player of the series show: “Everything is coming together nicely”

NEW DELHI: Indian batting mainstay Virat Kohli on Saturday said he is “feeling really free” mentally after delivering another match-winning knock that sealed the three-match ODI series for India, where he finished as the leading run scorer with 302 runs.

Kohli smashed a brisk 45-ball 65 not out in the third ODI after hitting consecutive centuries in the first two matches, extending his record tally to 53 hundreds as India cruised to a nine-wicket win over South Africa.

“Honestly, playing the way I have in the series is the most satisfying thing for me. I feel really free in my mind. I haven’t played like this in 2-3 years,” Kohli told the broadcaster after the match.

“I know when I can bat like that in the middle, it helps the team a long way. Makes me confident, any situation in the middle, I can handle that and bring it in favor of the team,” he added.
