Voting begins for Jalandhar West by-election news in hindi

Till 9 am, 10.30 per cent voting has taken place.

Jalandhar By-Election Voting News: By-elections are being held on Jalandhar West assembly seat of Punjab today on Wednesday. Voting has started here from 7 am. Voting will continue till 6 pm. There are a total of 1,71,963 voters on this seat. Among them, 89,629 are men and 82,326 are women. Along with this, there are also eight third gender voters in the said area. A total of 181 polling stations have been set up for voting there. These elections are being conducted under the supervision of District Election Officer and City DC Himanshu Aggarwal.

10.30 percent voting till 9 am

Tight security arrangements have been made for the voting. 700 soldiers have been deployed here. 10.30 percent voting has been done till 9 am.

It is being said that there is a possibility of a triangular contest on this seat. In which former MLA Sheetal Angural, who left Aam Aadmi Party and joined BJP, former BJP minister's son Mohinder Bhagat, who joined Aam Aadmi Party from BJP, and former senior deputy mayor Surinder Kaur from Congress are contesting the elections.

Actually, Sheetal Angural became AAP MLA from here in 2022. But before the Lok Sabha elections, he resigned. After which Angural joined BJP. Now BJP has made Angural its candidate. Aam Aadmi Party has given ticket to Mohinder Bhagat. Bhagat is the son of former BJP minister Chunni Lal Bhagat.
