Brisbane, Australian Test team captain Tim Paine has decided not to get into a feud with former India captain Sunil Gavaskar. Gavaskar had said that the Australian captain’s nervousness was reflected in his captaincy.
Penn said on Thursday that Gavaskar was free to express his views and his statement would not affect his team.
Penn said, I am not going to get into this thing with Sunil Gavaskar. He is free to express his views. It does not matter to us. Gavaskar can say whatever he wants. I have nothing to say
Gavaskar said Penn was nervous in the last Test and the effect was reflected in his bowling changes and fielding.
Gavaskar had said, it is not right for a captain to talk about anything other than cricket .. When you talk about something else, it tells that you are nervous. This indicates that you are not able to handle the competition offered by the opposition team.
Former India captain said, India finally managed to save the match. Ashwin dominated the pen. I am not an Australian selector, but his days as captain are few. If you let the Indian team bat 130 wickets without wickets, that too when this Australian attack is great, then your field placement and bowling changes are lacking.
