New Delhi, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Sunday that Jio will be the main sponsor of the Women’s T20 Challenge 2020.
The partnership between BCCI and Jio will also support the Reliance Foundation Education and Sports for All (RF EACA).
The Women’s T20 Challenge will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from November 4 to 9. It will be attended by three women teams – Supernovas, Trailblazers and Velocity.
Ganguly said, BCCI enhances the game of cricket in all formats, so has been an important area of focus for enhancing the women’s game. We hope that the Women’s T20 Challenge will inspire more young girls to cricket and convince parents that playing cricket is a great career opportunity for their daughters.
BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said, We look forward to seeing sports stories of great women that will be shared as a result of this initiative. We want to support and build concrete ways to develop female talent in cricket. Our mission is to pave the way for a dedicated women’s IPL with the Women’s T20 Challenge.

He said, Indian women cricketers have made the country proud by their spectacular achievements in ICC competitions in the last few years. Our aim is to ensure that we provide our girls with the best of basic facilities, training and rehabilitation. Players like Anjum, Mithali, Smriti, Harmanpreet and Poonam are excellent role models.
