WTC Final – Team India in form, New Zealand will face tough challenge: Ish Sodhi

In the final of the World Test Championship to be played between India and New Zealand, on the one hand, most of the experts are betting on New Zealand. At the same time, New Zealand leg-spinner Ish Sodhi is considering the Indian team as a favorite. Sodhi said that Team India has been in excellent form in the last few years and will give a tough fight to the Kiwis in the match played at this neutral venue. 

This title match is to be played between India and New Zealand in Southampton from June 18. Sodhi said, “It is good to play the final of the World Test Championship at a neutral venue. The Indian team has gone to Australia and won the last two test series there. He has played excellent cricket. The Indian team is in its form, so New Zealand will have to face the challenge.

The leg-spinner, who played 17 Tests, 33 ODIs and 57 T20 matches for New Zealand, also praised New Zealand’s game. “The fact is that we have raised the level of our game and reached the final of the World Test Championship. It is good to reach the final of this championship but someday it will be better to go to Australia and win. This time will be a better era for New Zealand cricket. 

Sodhi praised the team’s captain Kane Williamson and the current New Zealand team, saying, ‘Williamson is very calm. We are lucky to have got such a captain. We have fast bowler Tim Southee who is the vice-captain and also a great leader at his level.

He said, ‘There are Saudis who say that we have to do this by going on the field. But Williamson is calm and sets an example. He works hard and leads the team from the front.
