Chinese tech company Xiaomi has overtaken the iPhone which is counted among the world’s top brands in terms of market share. Let us know that IDC has shared a data, according to which Apple sold 10.6 percent less iPhones in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the same shipment made last year.
This happened for the first time
This data has revealed that Apple has reached the fourth position in the ranking of smartphone manufacturers in terms of market share. For the information, let us know that this is the first time, when Xiaomi has made a place in the top three position and Apple has moved down.
Talking about Samsung, Samsung stood at the top in this ranking and after that Huawei has occupied the second position. For the third position, Xiaomi performed better than Apple’s 11.8 percent share and its market share is around 13.1 percent.
… So this happened backwards
According to reports, in the third quarter of 2020 i.e. July-September, Apple sold 4.1 crore units. This number is about 50 lakhs less than the sale done last year. The reason for this is the delay in the launch of iPhone 12. Apple normally brings its new iPhones every year in the month of September, but new devices come in the month of October. However, apart from this, the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE have performed well and both of these devices are fiercely sold worldwide.
