Yogi government’s decision: These women will get houses in UP
Lucknow. Yogi government has taken an important step to empower women and strengthen social security in Uttar Pradesh. The government has announced that women who are victims of serious situations like triple talaq and acid attack, as well as destitute women, will be given the benefits of housing and health schemes on priority basis.
Preparation to provide facility of permanent house
Under the government scheme, such women will be provided permanent houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Chief Minister Awas Yojana. The process of providing housing facilities to women who do not have permanent residence is being started as soon as possible by including them in the priority list. The aim of this step is to provide a safe and dignified life to those women who have become helpless due to social or family circumstances.
Health security benefits will also be available
Along with housing, these women will also be linked to Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana. With this, they will be able to get free or concessional treatment facilities. Especially women who suffer acid attacks require long-term treatment, surgery and rehabilitation. In such a situation, this scheme can prove to be life changing for them.
Survey to identify beneficiaries
The Women Welfare Department has been directed to prepare detailed and verified data on triple talaq, acid attacks and destitute women. On the basis of this data, eligible beneficiaries will be identified and linked to various government schemes. To speed up this process at the departmental level, the work of data collection and verification has been started, so that no eligible woman is deprived of the benefits of the scheme.
The process accelerated after the Chief Minister’s instructions
In a recent high-level meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had given clear instructions to the officials that housing and health services should be provided to such women on priority basis. The government believes that not only financial assistance, but also safe housing and better health facilities are necessary to make the lives of women self-reliant and dignified.
