People of Himachal paid tribute with tearful eyes to Army officer Rakesh Kumar who was martyred in Jammu and Kashmir encounter.

Latest News :- Last Sunday, Army officer Rakesh Kumar was martyred in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Kistwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. His mortal remains were brought to his native village Barong in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh yesterday. At that time the entire village was immersed in sorrow. Raising emotional slogans of Jai Hind, his family, relatives and friends all bid farewell to the mortal remains of Rakesh Kumar with tearful eyes.
Rakesh Kumar's dream was to rebuild his house damaged by rain. But by then he died in an encounter with terrorists, causing great grief to his family. Rakesh Kumar's brother Karam Singh said that our ten-room ancestral house was badly damaged during the monsoon last year. After this, we are currently living in a rented house.
Rakesh, who came on leave one and a half months ago, had promised to start the construction of a new house in January. Yakar Malka said, “By then destiny had played its role. It is noteworthy that Army's Junior Commissioned Officer Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar, who was martyred in the encounter, lived with his wife Banupriya, daughter Yashwini (13), son Pranav (7) and his 90-year-old mother Pati Devi.
