Dera chief Ram Rahim has again demanded parole during Haryana Assembly elections. Ram Rahim has sent an application to the Election Commission for 20 days parole. However, the Election Commission has asked Ram Rahim to give clear reasons in this regard. The Commission said why do you want to come out on parole.

Let us tell you that Ram Rahim came out on parole for 21 days on 13th August. After this he returned to Rohtak's Sunaria Jail on 2 September. In such a situation, by demanding parole again after 27 days, the Election Commission has raised questions on his provisional release. Ram Rahim is accused of coming out of jail on parole to influence Haryana elections.

Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in jail in 2017. Since then the Dera chief has been out on parole or furlough 10 times. Till now he has spent 255 days i.e. more than eight months in jail. His parole or furlough is being questioned as it falls during elections.

Officials said that his application for 20 days parole has been sent to the Election Commission. The Election Commission has sought clarification from the Jail Department in this regard. The Commission said what is the compulsion behind coming out on parole. Let us tell you that in 2019, the Election Commission had sent a letter to all the states asking them to grant parole in extremely emergency cases. Besides, it should also be ensured that the accused is not involved in any election related activity.
