Telangana: Helper arrested for raping woman in moving bus

Hyderabad : Crime incidents are increasing day by day. Women are not safe even in buses. This is because, many times crimes are committed in a moving vehicle. One such incident has come to light from Telangana, which is quite shameful. Actually, a case of alleged rape of a female passenger by an assistant of a private bus has come to light.

A woman passenger travelling from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh was allegedly raped by a private bus attendant, police said on Sunday. According to police, the incident took place on the night of September 18 in a moving bus when the woman boarded the bus at Kukatpalli here.

Based on the woman's complaint, the police said the helper sent the woman passenger to the rear seat of the bus saying she would face inconvenience if she sat on the seat booked by her and later allegedly raped her after gagging her.

The helper allegedly sexually assaulted the woman again after threatening her not to tell anyone about the incident. The woman later lodged a complaint at the Chottuppal police station here on September 21.

A 'Zero FIR' (an FIR lodged regardless of the place of crime) was registered in this connection and later transferred to Kukatpalli police station, where the case was re-registered. Police said the accused was taken into custody during the investigation. Police believe that further action will be taken soon.
