Disha Patani's father cheated of Rs 25 lakhs, the lure of becoming the chairman of a government commission proved costly
Bollywood actress Disha Patani's father and retired police officer Jagdish Pat has been accused of committing a fraud of Rs 25 lakh by paying huge bribe for the post of chairperson or vice-chairperson in a government commission.
How did the fraud happen?
Bareilly resident and former Deputy SP Disha Patani Jagdish Patani was implicated in the conspiracy by her acquaintance Shivendra Pratap Singh. Shivendra along with his acquaintance Diwakar Garg and Acharya Jai Prakash came to see Jagdish. Saying that they had big contacts at the political level, these people assured Jagdish that they could get him appointed to a higher government post.
Ask for money to do this work
The gang extorted a total of Rs 25 lakh from Jagdish Patni, which included Rs 5 lakh in cash and Rs 20 lakh through bank transfer. It was claimed that the post would be given within 3 months and if not given then the amount would be returned with interest.
Introducing Fake OSD
To establish trust in Jagdish Pat, the accused introduced him to the fake minister's OSD Himanshu. Due to this Jagdish agreed to give more money.
Fraud Awareness and Police Complaints
When no work was done, Jagdish became suspicious. He complained to the SSP. Following the order of the SSP, an FIR was registered against the five accused in the Kotwali police station on charges of cheating, preparing fake documents and threatening.
Investigation is ongoing, supernatural activities of the gang are being monitored
Police have started investigating the bank accounts, properties and other criminal activities of the accused in the case. There is a possibility that the gang may have involved other people also.
SSP's statement
According to SP City Manush Pareek, strict action will be taken against the accused and there is a possibility of arrest soon.
