Shahbaz Sharif's attack on India in UN: Again on Kashmir and Article 370

Pakistan: The nervousness of the neighboring country Pakistan has once again come to the fore. From the platform of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif once again raised the issue of Kashmir and made baseless allegations against India. In his address on Friday, Sharif accused India of illegal activities in Kashmir and said that if India wants peace then it will have to abolish Article 370.

Pakistan again raised the Kashmir issue at the UN forum and said that India will have to withdraw its unilateral and illegal action taken on August 5, 2019. Not only this, Shahbaz Sharif also accused India of military expansion and planning an attack on the Pakistani border.

Pakistan has once again sung the Kashmir tune

Shahbaz Sharif said in his speech, 'India will have to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir issue as per the UN Security Council resolution and the wishes of the Kashmiri people for peace.' Sharif also alleged that India was developing aggressive strategies against Pakistan by expanding its military resources. Shahbaz Sharif said, “Pakistan will give a decisive reply to any such Indian attack.”

Referring to India's military strategy, the Prime Minister of Pakistan claimed that India's war policy includes planning for cross-border attacks on Pakistan and limited war. He also said that India has taken unilateral and illegal action in Jammu and Kashmir since August 5, 2019, which is against the UN resolutions. According to Sharif, these steps are part of India's intention to impose a final solution on Kashmir.

What is India's stance on relations with Pakistan?

It is noteworthy that India has already made it clear that it wants normal relations with Pakistan, but for this Pakistan will have to create an environment free from terrorism and hostility. India has repeatedly raised the issue of Pakistan's support to terrorism in international forums and has made it clear that terrorism and talks cannot go together. After the Pulwama attack, India gave a clear message to Pakistan that strict action against terrorism is necessary to improve bilateral relations.
