Hema Malini became emotional in the prayer meet, said – Dharam ji’s one dream remained unfulfilled

Hema Malini: At a prayer meet organized in the memory of famous actor Dharmendra, Hema Malini became emotional as she spoke about a dream which the actor could not fulfill. Speaking with a heavy heart, he shared a very personal thing about the late superstar that not many people knew about.

Dharmendra’s hidden talent for Urdu poetry

Hema Malini said that with time, a beautiful and lesser-known aspect of Dharmendra’s personality came to light — his love for Urdu poetry. He said, “He would instantly recite a couplet that would match the situation perfectly. That was his charm.”

He further told that he once gave him courage to publish his writings. “I told him, ‘You write beautifully. You should publish it as a book. Your fans will love it.’ He took it very seriously and started planning for it. But…that dream remained unfulfilled.”

“Our love was very true” – Hema Malini on her relationship

During the prayer meeting, Hema Malini also talked about her marriage with Dharmendra. “The man with whom I did love scenes on screen eventually became my life partner. Our love was true and true. We had the courage to face every situation together, and we decided to get married.”

A loss she will never recover from.

Choking back tears, Hema Malini said, “The whole world is mourning his loss, but for me, this is a pain I will never recover from. This is the story of losing a partner — a relationship that lasted till the end.”

Describing him as a loving and compassionate person, she further added, “Dharam ji’s personality knew no bounds. He treated everyone with love, respect and affection, no matter who they were.”

When did Dharmendra die?

Veteran actor and Bollywood’s original He-Man, Dharmendra passed away on November 24 after a prolonged illness. He breathed his last at the age of 89 on December 8, a few days before his 90th birthday.
