Diljit's film 'Punjab 95' will not be released in India yet, information about the post
Diljit Dusanjh's film 'Punjab 95' has not been released in India yet. Diljit Dusanjh himself has given this information by tweeting. Diljit tweeted that 'Punjab 95' will be released internationally without any cuts. It will be released in theaters on 7 February 2025. This film of Diljit is based on the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra.
Had to wait for about a year for the release of this film. Earlier there was a demand for 120 cuts in the film, but now it is clear from Diljit's post that the film is now being released without any cuts. Last year, when the release of the film was stopped, Jaswant Singh Khalra's wife Paramjit Kaur Khalra had condemned the demand of the Censor Board. She said that the film is a true biopic on her husband's life made with the consent of his family and should be released uncut.
Let us tell you that Jaswant Singh Khalra was a fearless and dedicated human rights activist, who raised his voice against atrocities and human rights violations against Sikhs in Punjab during the 1980s and 1990s. He revealed that during that period, thousands of Sikh youth were illegally detained, killed in fake encounters and their bodies were secretly cremated.
Khalra had to pay the price of fighting for the rights of Sikhs with his life. The family alleges that on September 6, 1995, the police had kidnapped Khalra from her house. After this he was tortured and killed in police custody.
