Railways to rehire retired employees below 65 years of age

Latest News :- In view of the shortage of employees in the railway sector, the Railway Board has taken steps to fill 25,000 vacant posts. It has been decided to re-appoint on these posts those people below 65 years of age who have already retired from the Railways. According to this, railway retirees below 65 years of age can apply for various jobs ranging from supervisor to track man.
Physical Fitness: Their work conduct for the last five years will be analyzed and they will be selected for the job on the basis of their fitness. Can work as a temporary employee in that job for 2 years. Work extension will be given based on their performance.
Those re-employed will be paid only the basic pension after deducting the last month's salary. Delivered as per itinerary. However, it has also been informed that there will be no increase in salary. It has been told that zonal managers will do the work of reappointment of retired employees.
Shortage of staff: Railway accidents are happening frequently in recent times. While shortage of staff is being said to be one of the reasons for these accidents, the Railway Department has also started the process of appointment to necessary posts in all the zones. Various sections have protested that re-employment of retired people is a bad move when the youth are stranded without jobs.
