Karnataka engineering student falls into ditch while taking selfie
Health News Update :- A college student who lost her leg while taking a selfie in Karnataka got stuck on a rock and was rescued safely after a 20-hour struggle. Somnath Gowda (48) is a resident of Shravanapura near Guppi in Dumakuru district of Karnataka. His daughter Amsa S Gowda (20). He is studying B.Tech second year in a private college there.
Last Sunday evening he had gone for a picnic with friends at Lake Maidala near Tumkur. While climbing a rock and taking a selfie, his foot slipped and he fell on the rock. Shocked by this, friends immediately informed the police and fire department. The fire department reached the spot and tried to save the woman who had fallen down. They broke rocks and tried to save them using ropes and chains.
But he was trapped between rocks at a depth of more than 30 feet, making immediate rescue difficult. At night they continued rescue operations in low light and with limited technology. However, they were unable to contact him immediately. Due to this, her friends and relatives started crying thinking that the college student has died. The villagers covered it with sandbags and diverted the water. After this the rescue team climbed the rocks and went inside.
The rescue team struggled for more than 20 hours and rescued the woman safely. This made his family and friends happy. The whole night in fear of death… Student Amsa said, when I took a selfie, my foot slipped and I fell on a dark rock. I can not see a thing. Couldn't sit. I stood on the rock. Couldn't even blink. No one saved me on the first day. That whole night I sat in fear of death. When dawn broke the next day, human voices were heard. Only then did hope for survival arise. After several hours of struggle I was rescued safely. He said this.
