Himachal: Vikramaditya Singh said on Wednesday (September 25) that like Uttar Pradesh, it will be mandatory to post photo identity card at shops in Himachal Pradesh too. Now the government has made this thing clear.

Himachal: Himachal Pradesh Government's Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh seems to be sticking to his statement. Vikramaditya Singh had given a statement on Wednesday itself, in which he had said that like Uttar Pradesh, it will be mandatory to post photo identity card at shops in Himachal Pradesh also.

The state government's clarification has come out in this regard. The spokesperson of the state government has clarified that at present the state government has not given any such order.

There is no government mandate to put names on shops

The state government spokesperson also clarified that for this purpose, a committee has been constituted by Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan. This committee will decide the entire matter. The state government has not yet taken any decision on making name plates or other identity cards mandatory for vendors at their shops. Overall, through this statement issued by the spokesperson of the state government, he has distanced himself from the words of Vikramaditya Singh.

The cabinet will take the final decision on the committee's recommendation.

A spokesperson of the state government said that a committee of Congress and BJP MLAs has been formed under the chairmanship of State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan. Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Anirudh Singh, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, MLA Anil Sharma, Satpal Singh Satti, Randhir Sharma and Harish Janartha are the members of this committee. The committee will review the suggestions from various stakeholders before giving its recommendations to the state government in this regard.

All suggestions should be considered sensitively.

Himachal Cabinet will take any decision only after thoroughly considering these recommendations. Suggestions have been received from various sections of the society regarding the street vendor policy. Every aspect of this matter is being considered with sensitivity. He said that the state government is committed to solving the problems related to street vendors. All suggestions will be considered sensitively before taking a decision in this regard.
