0 to 500 million dollars overnight! Pakistan’s friend Turkey has suffered a huge loss in India’s education
Turkey’s company Celebi went from being a $500 million commercial enterprise to zero overnight after falling under the fire of India. After running the business for 17 years, they had to close their business in this country overnight, bearing in mind the huge loss in India-Education. On May 15, 2025, Kanan Celebioglu, the Turkish industrialist and the head of Celebi organization, recently revealed the strict action of the Indian government in an interview.
Selevi Aviation of Turkey was once the largest airport management company in the country. The company was responsible for ground handling at important airports in India. But all calculations changed during Operation Sindoor against Pakistan. The Turkish government was accused of supporting the Pakistan Army during the Indo-Pak war. Forgetting all the help from India, the Turkish government helped Pakistan with drones during the war. There were also allegations of sending troops to Pakistan. Meanwhile, it was alleged that the organization had direct links with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan’s daughter was a partner in this company. Due to which the Indian government took strict action. The organization was banned citing national security reasons. As a result, the company went from $500 million to zero in a matter of hours.
The head of the company said, ‘A company worth 500 million dollars is wiped out in a day. A huge number of businesses come down to zero. Sanctions were imposed on us citing national security reasons.’
Kanan Celebioglu recently highlighted the incident last year in an interview. “17 years of hard work and an organization worth around 500 million dollars was wiped out in one day. A huge amount of business came to nothing. We were banned on the grounds of national security. I loved India very much. But this one incident broke us completely. It was a big shock for us,” he said.
In response to the Pahalgaon attack, the Indian Army launched Operation Sindur against Pakistan. According to Canaan, the time is May 2025. Celebi’s security clearance was revoked by the then ‘Bureau of Civil Aviation Security’ (BCAS) on the recommendation of the Home Ministry. This clearance is very important for conducting ground handling at any airport. No organization can enter the runway or cargo without it. It is known that Erdogan’s daughter Sumei Erdoğan had a stake in this company in Turkey. Due to which the license of the organization is cancelled.
Although Celebi claimed, the organization has no financial relationship with the Turkish president or his family. A case was filed in the Delhi High Court. There they claimed that New Delhi canceled the contract with them without any notice. 3791 workers will lose their jobs if the contract is suddenly canceled like this. But that argument did not hold up in front of national security.
