1.59 crore rupees in the name of commercial plot, now behind bars – Read
Noida Police has exposed the gang of two brothers who cheated crores of rupees on the pretext of getting commercial property in Noida. Sector-142 police station has arrested an accused in this case and sent him to jail, while his brother is still absconding. The accused grabbed Rs 1.59 crore from a person with the help of fake allotment letter and fake agreement.
According to the police, the victim had lodged a complaint at the Sector-142 police station that he was assured of getting a commercial plot in Noida. In the name of this, the accused showed fake documents claiming to be owners and took Rs 1.59 crore in installments. When neither the plot was received nor the land was registered for a long time, the victim felt cheated.
Cheated with fake documents
Police investigation revealed that the accused Devansh Gautam and Vishnu Gautam are real brothers and live in a society in Greater Noida West. Both of them used to work together in buying and selling property. The accused took the victim into confidence by showing him fake allotment letter and fake agreement. Full payment was made after telling the price of the land, but later neither the land was shown nor the registration was done.
When the victim asked for his money back, the accused started threatening him. After receiving continuous avoidance and threats, the victim approached the police. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Sector-142 police station registered a case and started investigation.
One accused arrested, brother absconding
ADCP Santosh Kumar said that after investigation, the police has arrested the accused Devansh Gautam. He was produced in the court, from where he was sent to jail in judicial custody. The second accused Vishnu Gautam is still absconding and efforts are being made to arrest him.
Police suspect that the accused may have made other people victims of similar fraud. The matter is being investigated from this angle also.
