Big news for ration card holders of Chhattisgarh, 1.85 lakh families across the state will not get ration from January.

CG News: It has been made mandatory by the state government to update the e-KYC of every member registered in the ration card across the state.

CG Ration Card: Big news related to ration card holders of Chhattisgarh has come to light. Those ration card holders of the state who have not yet updated their e-KYC will not get ration in the month of January. As soon as the information about not getting ration came to light, there was panic among the card holders. The situation is such that now a huge crowd of people is being seen in the offices of the Food Department.

No e-KYC, no ration

In fact, the state government has made it mandatory to update the e-KYC of every member registered in the ration card across the state. For which the department was continuously appealing to the card holders for the last one year to get KYC done, but despite this many people did not take it seriously. After which, now that the deadline has been reached, the government has made it clear that those who have not updated the KYC of their ration card will not get the ration allocation for the month of January.

Due to fear of not getting ration, people are reaching the Food Department office and standing in long queues from morning till late evening to get their KYC updated. However, people are still feeling relieved that they are still getting the opportunity to update KYC.

e-KYC of 1.85 lakh people left

According to the data, there are a total of 5 lakh 66 thousand ration cards in the district, in which 18 lakh 28 thousand members are registered. Out of which KYC of about 1 lakh 85 thousand members has not been updated yet. Let us tell you that all these are card holders of APL (Above Poverty Line) category. Despite the continuous efforts of the department, 100% KYC has not been completed, hence the government has had to take this tough decision. The department has appealed that all the people should get their KYC done today itself otherwise they will not get the ration for January.
