1 April 2026 Auto Update: If you are planning to buy a new car in the coming days, then please note that many rules are going to change in the automotive sector from tomorrow, April 1, 2026. With the beginning of the new financial year, many big changes are going to happen in the auto sector. Car prices are going to increase. E20 fuel will also be implemented in the entire country. Come, let’s take a look at the complete information.
Cars will become expensive from April 1
From tomorrow April 1, 2026, which is also the beginning of the new financial year, the prices of many cars are going to increase. Many automotive companies are preparing to increase the prices of their vehicles. These include big companies like Tata Motors, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and MG Motor. Luxury car manufacturing companies BMW and Mercedes-Benz are increasing the prices of their vehicles by 2 percent from tomorrow. Similarly, car manufacturing company MG Motor is also implementing price increase from tomorrow.
Honda Motors has already implemented the price increase. Popular car manufacturer Tata Motors is also increasing the prices of its cars from tomorrow. Tata is increasing the prices of models like Tiago, Nexon and Safari by up to Rs 13,000. Automotive companies say that this increase in prices has become necessary due to weak rupee, rising prices of raw materials and increase in logistics expenses. Apart from this, other operational expenses are also increasing, due to which these changes in prices have to be made.
E20 fuel will be implemented in the entire country
Another important change to be implemented from April 1 is that E20 fuel will be made mandatory across the country. It is worth noting that E20 fuel contains a mixture of 20 percent ethanol and 80 percent petrol.
The main objective of this initiative is to reduce the import of petrol and diesel, as well as to curb pollution. New vehicles will be able to run on E20 fuel without any problem. However, using this fuel may reduce the mileage of old vehicles by 3 to 7 percent.
