1 big good news for ‘farmers’ in UP, government gave a gift

News Desk. To provide economic security to the farmers in Uttar Pradesh and ensure fair price for their produce, the government has started the procurement process of pulses and oilseed crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP). In Lakhimpur Kheri district, this arrangement will continue from November 1 to January 29, 2026, which will last for a total of 90 days. Amidst the increasing fluctuations in the market and falling prices, this step is being considered no less than a lifesaver for the farmers.

Many purchase centers active across the district

According to Assistant Commissioner and Assistant Registrar Cooperative Rajneesh Pratap Singh, procurement centers have been set up in different areas of the district to save the farmers from any kind of trouble. PCF, PCU and UPSS, the three major agencies of the Cooperative Department, have been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the procurement without any discrimination and hindrance.

MSP Rates and Payment Process

Following are the prices of crops to be purchased as per the MSP announced by the government. Moong: ₹8768 per quintal, Urad: ₹7800 per quintal, Groundnut: ₹7263 per quintal, Sesame: ₹9846 per quintal. Farmers can sell their crops by reaching designated centers with their registration certificates. It has been assured by the department that the payment will be made completely online and in a transparent manner. Timely payment has been given top priority, so that farmers do not face financial problems.

The Cooperative Department has requested the farmers to bring their produce within the stipulated time limit, so that they can get the full benefit of MSP. In view of the frequent fluctuations in the prices of pulses and oilseeds, this procurement campaign is going to become a strong economic support for the farmers.
