1 big good news for India, competition to China, America surprised!

New Delhi. India has made significant progress in the field of electronics and mobile manufacturing in the last ten years. The country which once imported mobile phones in large quantities, has today become one of the world’s leading mobile exporters. This transformation not only reflects India’s industrial potential but is also a testament to its strengthening position in the global market.

unprecedented growth in exports

According to government data, India’s mobile phone exports were about Rs 0.01 lakh crore in 2014-15. But by 2024-25 it will increase to about Rs 2 lakh crore. That means, more than 127 times increase has been registered in mobile exports in a decade. This growth shows that India is increasingly becoming an important part of the global electronics supply chain.

Tremendous increase in production also

Not only exports, there has also been a huge expansion in electronics production in the country. While the total electronics production was around Rs 1.9 lakh crore in 2014-15, it will increase to around Rs 11.3 lakh crore in 2024-25. That means production has increased almost six times. Similarly, electronics exports have also increased at a fast pace. Earlier it was around Rs 0.38 lakh crore, which has now increased to around Rs 3.3 lakh crore.

Major contribution of policies

There are many important schemes and policies of the government behind this success. Campaigns like “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” aim to create a strong electronics manufacturing ecosystem in the country. Due to these initiatives, foreign companies as well as domestic industries have increased production in India.

Entering a new phase of construction

Initially, India mainly assembled finished mobile phones. But now the country’s focus is also on the production of various modules, sub-modules, components and equipment and raw materials used in manufacturing of mobile phones. This is strengthening both India’s technological capability and industrial self-reliance.

India’s growing role on the global stage

Today India has become the second largest mobile manufacturing hub in the world. This achievement shows that India can play a bigger role in the electronics industry in the coming years. This progress of India in mobile and electronics sector is a positive sign for the country’s economy. If this pace continues, India may soon join the leading countries in global electronics production and export.
