The official said that the security forces, Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF Srinagar are jointly running Operation 'Katsan', which is still going on.
According to reports, Operation 'Kaitsan' was launched in Chuntwadi Kaitsan area of Bandipora on November 5 following an encounter between security forces and terrorists.
According to the Indian Army's Chinar Corps, “Based on specific intelligence input about the presence of terrorists in Kaitsan forest, the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a joint operation in Chuntwadi Kaitsan area of Bandipora. The terrorists opened fire on the security forces, following which the security forces retaliated. One terrorist was killed in the firing, while an Army jawan and a CRPF jawan were injured, the official said. He said that the injured have been taken to the hospital and the operation is going on.
