From the crunchy nuts and Parmesan crisps to the chewiness of sun-dried tomatoes, this broccoli salad has a satisfying medley of textures. The red-wine vinaigrette brings a briny flavor that is balanced by the nuttiness of the cheese. Serve this salad as a side or turn it into a meal-prep-friendly lunch—just leave the Parmesan crisps out until serving so they don’t get soggy. Look for Parmesan crisps in the dressing aisle near croutons.

This bang bang broccoli salad features the classic creamy, sweet and spicy bang bang sauce—made with mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce and Sriracha—for a bold flavor that balances heat with a hint of sweetness. It’s typically used as a dipping sauce; here we use it as a dressing instead to coat crispy veggies, delivering a satisfying kick.

Broccoli Salad

Salads are always good. I’m big on them, especially in the summer. My husband, Carl, likes salads year-round, and I can do a good salad whether it’s using all sorts of vegetables or just one. There’s nothing better than a summer garden salad, and this is a great one. And it’s even better if you can make it the day before, so all the tastes and flavors can combine. Just give it a good stir before serving.
Blue Cheese Broccoli Salad
Creamy blue cheese dressing coats fresh, crunchy broccoli in this easy side salad. Dried apricots add pops of sweetness and color, while crispy bits of bacon provide a salty bite. This recipe is easily doubled to serve a crowd.
Creamy Broccoli Slaw
This crunchy coleslaw uses a colorful mix of broccoli and green cabbage. The creamy dressing uses tahini as the base—for the mildest, least bitter tahini, look for one that’s light beige instead of caramel colored. Dried cranberries add a pop of sweetness to balance.
Broccoli & Grape Salad
An unlikely pairing of grapes and broccoli creates an out-of-the-ordinary quick side dish. The sweet snappy bite of the grapes complements the crispy raw broccoli and onion, while the creamy dressing and toasted almonds pull it all together. Enjoy it for lunch or double the recipe for an easy potluck recipe everyone will love.
Broccoli-Apple Crunch Salad

This crisp, colorful broccoli-apple salad proves that broccoli is just as delicious raw as it is roasted. A tangy apple-cider vinaigrette, brightened with Dijon and honey, softens the bite of the raw florets and shallot as they marinate in the fridge. Just before serving, thin slices of Honeycrisp apple, shredded sharp Cheddar and crunchy sunflower seeds join the mix for a sweet-salty-crunchy finish.
Cranberry-Almond Broccoli Salad
Broccoli salad is usually drowning in a creamy, often very sweet, dressing and studded with 1/2 pound crumbled bacon, making it more about the dressing and bacon than about the actual broccoli. Ours uses a combination of canola mayonnaise and Greek yogurt to keep the calories in check. We opt for center-cut bacon (a bit less of it) and swap the usual raisins for lower-sugar dried cranberries to pack a subtle punch of tart. The best part of this salad? The longer it sits, the better it gets.
Broccoli, Chickpea & Pomegranate Salad
Simple steps give this broccoli salad recipe a more nuanced flavor: soaking the onion tempers its bite and toasting the cumin enhances its aroma. Serve alongside grilled chicken, pork or fish.
