10 killed, 32 injured as bus overturns in eastern Mexico
Mexico City. Ten people were killed and 32 others were injured when a bus plunged into a ditch in the municipality of Zoncomatlan in Veracruz state in eastern Mexico. Local officials gave this information on Thursday. The Zontecomatlan municipal government released a statement on its official Facebook page, saying that nine adults and one minor died in the accident.
Officials are busy confirming the identity of the deceased. Survivors and emergency rescue workers said the accident happened Wednesday when the bus, operated by Conexion Co., went out of control while traveling on a difficult road in northern Veracruz. The state Civil Defense Secretariat said on Facebook that the injured have been sent to hospitals for medical treatment.
