10 lakh tribals will reach Delhi regarding conversion reservation movement

The tribal society has finalized the outline of the Delhi Chalo Movement (Delhi Tribal Reservation Protest) demanding reservation and depriving the converts of government benefits.

10 lakh in this national movement proposed on 22 May 2026 tribal (tribal people) will be included. Tribal leaders from across the country were present in the meeting held on Sunday at the national headquarters of Tribal Security Forum located in Banki Toli, Jashpur. The meeting was presided over by the National Convenor of the Forum, Ganesh Ram Bhagat.

In the meeting, the movement’s strategy, timetable and concrete plan for creating national pressure were discussed. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Bhagat said that delisting means that the converts are being deprived of reservation and other government facilities. This issue is extremely sensitive for the tribal society and the Manch has been agitating on this for years.

To give a broader shape to this movement, leaders and workers from tribal districts of the entire state including Jashpur, Raigarh, Korba, Surguja, Balrampur and Koriya participated in the meeting. Bhagat told that people of tribal community from all the provinces will participate in this national movement and for this, people will be motivated to join the movement by giving them yellow rice.

State coordinator Roshan Pratap Singh said that a list of all the people going from Chhattisgarh to Delhi will be prepared by March. In the last two years, 150 complaints related to delisting issue have been registered in the state, out of which FIR has been registered in 55 cases. This number shows that resentment and dissatisfaction is increasing in the tribal society due to the converts.

The aim of Tribal Suraksha Manch is to have a strong demonstration of tribal society in Delhi on 22nd May and to put pressure on the government. During the movement, along with protesting in Delhi, a memorandum will also be submitted to the President and the Prime Minister. In this memorandum, a demand will be made to spread awareness about the loss being caused to the tribal society and the country due to religious conversion.

Ganesh Ram Bhagat said, “Our aim is not only to protect reservation and government benefits, but also to create public awareness across the country about the ill effects of delisting. The Delhi Tribal Reservation Protest of 22nd May will be a decisive step in this direction.”

It was also decided in the meeting that people in all the six districts would be contacted door-to-door to motivate them to join the movement. Activists will invite people through yellow rice to unite and move towards Delhi for the rights of their community.

Thus, the proposed Delhi Chalo Movement (Delhi Tribal Reservation Protest) on 22 May 2026 will prove to be a turning point for the tribal society. This movement will strongly present the voice of tribals against religious conversions across the country and will put effective pressure on the government.
