10 patients died in Odisha SCB hospital fire, PM Modi and CM Manjhi expressed grief over the accident.

New Delhi, 16 March. A massive fire broke out at SCB Medical Hospital in Cuttack in the early hours of today. This heart-wrenching incident took place in a ward of the hospital, in which according to preliminary information, 10 patients died, while the condition of 5 other patients is said to be critical. The Police Commissioner has given information about the incident. According to the information, late at night when the hospitalized patients and their family members were sleeping, a sudden fire broke out. After the fire, the situation went out of control within some time and there was panic among the patients.

Expressing deep grief over the fire, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced financial assistance to the families of the deceased and the injured. PMNRF will provide an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh to each family, while Rs 50,000 will be provided to the injured as financial assistance.

The Prime Minister wrote on his social media account, “The accident at a hospital in Cuttack, Odisha is extremely tragic. My deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. PMNRF will give an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the dependents of each deceased. Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured.”

Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi had also announced relief for the families of the deceased. He announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the next of kin of each deceased. He also said that special arrangements should be made for the injured. After the accident, the Chief Minister immediately contacted the affected families and the hospital administration and directed to monitor the relief work.

Suddenly a fire broke out in the ICU of SCB Hospital at 2:30 pm on Sunday-Monday night. Within a few minutes the fire took a huge form. In this arson, 10 patients admitted to the hospital lost their lives, while many people were seriously injured, who are being given necessary treatment.
