New Delhi. The Bangladesh connection of the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan has come to light. Mumbai Police arrested the attacker in the early hours of Sunday after a 72-hour search. The accused person has been arrested from Thane. After the arrest of the accused, Mumbai Police held a press conference in this regard. During this, DCP Dixit Gedam of Mumbai Crime Branch said that the accused is suspected to be a Bangladeshi. He will be produced before the court shortly today, where remand of the accused will be sought. He told the police that his name is Mohammad Islam Shahzad.

The police had formed a team of 100 officers to reach Saif's attacker. The police continued investigating the case continuously for 72 hours. Police traced his phone number. After committing the crime, the accused switched off his phone. After this he switched on his phone and made a call. After the call he switched off his phone again. If CCTV was seen anywhere in the market or on the road, the accused would have hidden his face, but the police traced his phone. Wherever the accused was seen, data of active mobile numbers was collected.

Police collected data of numbers present in Saif's house, Bandra Railway Station, Dadar. A mobile number was found active at all three places. The police extracted the data of the number on which the accused had called and made a call on it. After this the police met them and showed them the photo of the accused. They identified the accused and told that he worked as a laborer with them. After this, the police formed about 30 teams from different departments to arrest the accused. The police team raided the Metro construction site behind TCS Call Center in Hiranandani Estate, Thane West, where the accused was hiding.
