Video of 100 year old ‘desi fridge’ goes viral

The special thing about this desi fridge is that it is made of completely natural ingredients. It has been prepared from soil, cow dung and a grass called ‘Khimp’. Its working method is also based on science, which is called evaporation.

Water slowly evaporates from the small pores present in the soil, keeping the air inside cool. The grass roof on top protects it from the strong sun and hot winds. It is said that the milk kept in it does not spoil for many days and the curd also freezes well.
