Andhra Pradesh Congress President Sharmila Reddy wrote a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah for CBI investigation of Tirupati case

New Delhi. Amidst the controversy over the Prasad available in Tirupati Balaji temple, Andhra Pradesh Congress has now demanded a CBI inquiry into this matter from the Central Government. Andhra Pradesh Congress President Y. S. Sharmila Reddy has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in this regard. In this letter, Sharmila has requested the Home Minister to immediately order a CBI inquiry into this entire matter. Y. S. Sharmila Reddy is the sister of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy.

On the other hand, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Executive Officer Shamala Rao said on this entire controversy that the investigation report has revealed that the ghee sample is adulterated with vegetable fat and animal fat as well. The adulteration of animal fat includes many things including lard (pig fat), palm oil, cow fat and fish oil. The ghee sample was a mixture of all these. The reading of fat made from pure milk should be between 95.68 to 104.32, but the reading of all our ghee samples was around 20, which means that the ghee supplied is highly adulterated. We have also started the process of blacklisting and punishing the supplier. We have formed an expert committee to improve the supply of ghee and strengthen our internal system so that we do not have to face this problem again. The expert committee has asked us to set up our own laboratory which will solve such a problem.

On the other hand, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chaudhary said on the Tirupati Prasadam controversy that I have not read the report but if there is even 0.1 percent truth in it, then it should be thoroughly investigated and strict action should be taken. People from the country and abroad come to visit Tirupati Balaji and accept the laddu prasad with great faith, the faith of many people is attached to it. The faith of crores of people should not be insulted, this is very wrong.
