Kanpur. Once again a conspiracy to cause a train accident has been exposed in Kanpur, UP. A small LPG cylinder was found lying on the railway track near Perambur railway station in Kanpur rural area at around 6 am on Sunday. This station comes under Prayagraj division of Central Railway. A goods train was coming on the track here. Its alert driver saw a small LPG cylinder lying on the track. After which he applied brakes and stopped the goods train and no accident happened. The local police has been informed about the LPG cylinder found on the track. Along with the police, RPF is also investigating the matter. The way the cylinder was kept on the track, it is clear that this is a dangerous act done as a mischief.

Earlier, on the night of 8 September 2024, a conspiracy to cause an accident of Kalindi Express near Kanpur was revealed. On that date, Kalindi Express going from Prayagraj to Bhiwani collided with a large LPG cylinder placed on the track. However, the driver of Kalindi Express stopped the train by applying brakes and averted the accident. After this, when the police investigated, apart from the LPG cylinder, gunpowder and a plastic bottle filled with petrol were also recovered from the spot.

Even before this, there have been many attempts to cause train accidents. Someone had placed two 70 kg cement blocks on the track at Sardhana near Ajmer. The engine of the goods train collided with it, but the train did not derail. At the same time, a heavy cement block was also found on the track in Solapur, Maharashtra. Whereas, on 17 August 2024, the engine and 22 coaches of the Sabarmati Express between Kanpur-Jhansi derailed when the engine collided with a boulder placed on the track. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said that the incident is being investigated by the IB. Now once again, with the discovery of a cooking gas cylinder on the track near Kanpur city, it is certain that anti-social elements are conspiring to take the lives of hundreds of people by causing a major accident.
